Travel and Tourism
This is a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate course and is offered to students in Key Stage 5.
The course is intended for students who wish to study the Travel and Tourism industry.
In Year 12, students will work towards their certificates in Travel and Tourism, by studying the following two units:
1: The World of Travel & Tourism
3: Principles of Marketing in Travel & Tourism
Year 13 units for completion will be:
2: Global Destinations
9: Visitor Attractions
All four studied over the two years course will make up the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificates in Travel & Tourism. During the course, students will learn about how the industry contributes to the economy as well as examining the importance of tourism in the UK. Students will investigate visitor attractions round the world in details, to prepare for the two coursework units studied in Year 12 and Year 13.
This qualification can lead to further education at University as well as transferable knowledge and skills such as research, communicating and presenting ideas.
