The Performing Arts

Aims

The Performing Arts is a thriving area of school life and aims to inspire students’ love of learning and understanding of the various arts.  We aim to develop a creative environment where all students are encouraged to develop their confidence and skills as a performer in the various arts disciplines.

Resources

The department houses a range of outstanding facilities for the provision of Performing Arts including a Dance studio and Drama studio, equipped with a fully rigged lighting and sound system, and the Main Hall stage complete with fully rigged technical resources and flexible staging blocks.

In addition, the department uses digital and video recording equipment, cameras and sound studio equipment to enhance the professionalism of performances and delivery of the curriculum.

Opportunities

Within the Performing Arts department, we encourage students to fully immerse themselves in the Arts, whether this is as a performer or member of an audience.  To this end, we offer a full and extensive range of performance and competitive opportunities across all three subject areas.  We provide students with opportunities for theatre visits, exhibitions and in-house shows on a termly basis.  Please see the list below of this year's events.
